IT & AI Implementation · Novi, Michigan

Industrial-grade IT and AI, for any business ready to put it to work.

Journeyman IT builds and runs the systems a working business stands on — and the AI that does real work on top of them: it audits pricing, prioritizes overdue invoices, reorganizes an 800-product storefront, and remembers what it learned. Everything shown here is deployed in production at real companies, not a demo reel.

Two doors, one shop

Start where it makes sense

Door One · Metro Detroit

A full-stack IT partner, close to the work

Managed IT on a monthly retainer — computers, email, network, backups, security — then business systems built to fit how you actually operate, then automation and AI on top. On-site when it matters.

Starts with a free walkthrough of what you have.
Door Two · Anywhere

AI implementation, delivered remote-first

For operations-heavy businesses that want AI doing real work — not demos and hype. Built on the unglamorous fundamentals — identity, data, security — that make it safe to run, and deployed into accounts you own.

Starts with one shipped automation, not a strategy deck.

Finding Six Figures of Pricing Errors in ERP Data

An AI-assisted audit compared what the company last paid for each item with what it sells for — 2,763 items — and flagged 106 selling below cost: six-figure estimated exposure nobody had seen, now with the business owner for repricing decisions. Production price changes ship through a separate, proven human-in-the-loop approval pipeline.

Overdue Invoices, Prioritized Automatically Every Morning

Finance starts each day with a prioritized list of who owes money — invoice rows color-coded by age, oldest balances first, delivered by an automatic 5 AM digest. Built natively inside the company's ERP, so it inherits existing permissions and needs no second login.

Making 800 Products Findable Online

Customers couldn't find products without already knowing what to search for. An agentic workflow — eleven analyzer agents working in parallel — redesigned the store's navigation by brand, equipment type, and use. Product tagging and the first brand hub are live on the selling site; the rest is staged for QA and cutover.

AceMem: AI Agents That Remember What the Team Already Solved

A problem solved once — an ERP permission quirk, a vendor naming rule — never has to be re-explained to the AI again. AceMem is a retrieval-augmented (RAG) memory system: vector search plus structured retrieval over the team's own engineering history, shared across every machine.

Hybrid RAG retrieval 900k+ tokens indexed ~98% context reduction

Safe AI Access to Admin Systems: 866 Commands Behind 5 Governed Tools

AI agents handle routine Microsoft 365 and ERP admin work without ever holding open-ended access. An MCP server exposes five governed tools with dynamic tool discovery — read-only by default, permissions scoped to the task at hand.

One Login for Everything — People and AI Agents Alike

Converging four separate logins — on-prem AD, Microsoft 365, NetSuite, Shopify Plus — onto one identity broker built on Entra ID and Cloudflare Access. The foundation is live — including agent access through the same Zero Trust broker as people — with per-system single sign-on federation rolling out in phases.

Background

About

A journeyman is a qualified tradesperson who travels to the work. Journeyman IT is run by Jack — technology lead at ACE Cutting Equipment & Supply and IT manager at RJM Process Solutions, both in Novi, Michigan. The work spans Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, NetSuite and Shopify Plus, Cloudflare Zero Trust, and right-sized custom systems in Python. On top sits the GenAI layer — MCP tool infrastructure, retrieval-augmented agent memory, multi-agent orchestration, and human-in-the-loop approval flows — built on Anthropic's Claude models. Everything documented here is deployed in production or staged awaiting promotion, and client systems always live in accounts the client owns.
